iPad Email keeps downloading same messages

This started happening rather suddenly.

I have Verizon Fios as my email provider.

iPad mail is set up as OTHER through a Verizon account.

Suddenly, email that is deleted is downloaded over and over again upon relaunch.

I went into Settings -> Email ->Advanced and selected "Delete from server when removed from Inbox." Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem.

Any suggestions how to fix this problem?

I would log into your Verizon mail via the web and see what you have. This might be a Verizon issue.
