I loved the thought of being able to buy all my media in one, digital place. Over the previous 6 months, I have acquired a MacBook Pro, as well as an iPhone. I plan on someday purchasing an iMac, as well as an Apple TV. This is the happy news.

The sad news is that I am very disappointed with the way Apple runs some of their movies. For example, Defiance (2008) is $9.99 SD, but $17.99 HD. I could have instead bought a Bluray (full 1080p mind you) from Amazon for $9.99. This includes shipping. WTH?

Another example, Fireproof is available to rent in HD for $4.99. However, you CANNOT buy it in HD. But of course it is availible in SD to buy for $9.99 Why? Once again, this movie is available from Amazon, in Bluray, for $9.99, shipped.

I love the direction iTunes has brought things, but there are some factors that very much disappoint me.

Any thoughts or explanations?
