iOS Learning Xcode

Hi all, I've purchased several books on learning Objective-C and now want to try putting it into practice using Xcode.

I've never programmed before and Xcode is new to me so could anyone recommend any good books on learning how to use it from scratch?

I'm not sure if there are books for the latest version of Xcode if not would I still be able to get the basics from an older book?

I look forward to your replies :)
 
Also check out the WWDC videos, there are some on XCode and you can see how a lot of the functionality works.

Yeah I'm wanting to learn only how to use Xcode now as I've the objective-c books already. I've downloaded the guide you linked so I'll get stuck into it. Many Thanks
 
Try these two books, there the best ones I found for learning Objective-C, and
Xcode, and written by people who run courses on these subjects.

This one first.

I believe this last one has a newer version due out in March.

I have used all of the above, an can highly recommend them.

I started watching the iTunes U videos on iOS development. Xcode 4 seems to be a bit different from the version he was using (3.2.4)? Is there a way to get the older version still, so I can follow along easier?

I just want to do this as a bit of a hobby. I haven't programmed since I graduated in 2002 and that we were using Visual C++ 6 and Java.
