Text Tones Won't Sound When Docked iPhone 4S

When my iPhone 4S is docked in my alarm clock an ihome iH22 the text tones do not sound, only vibrate. When I receive a phone call the phone rings normally. How can I get the text tones to work or why won't they work when docked? I've tried different tones but nothing works

No text tones when in the dock

The phones rings for incoming phone calls when in the dock but the incoming texts won't cause a sound when in the dock.

Any ideas?
