I m looking for a stand for the small mba that will keep the lower part in contact with the desk surface and raise the screen. I am currently using an old box which is apparently less than optimal in terms of aesthetics when clients come in the office. Any suggestions guys and gals?

I use a Podium Coolpad to good advantage. You do have to be careful to center the MBA's footprint (I have the 11") but it does what you want and looks the part.
 
Try a Rain MStand, it looks as if it was designed by Apple and it's great aesthetically (although you should also get the apple keyboard and a Magic Mouse with this so you don't have to raise your arm to type or to scroll
 
thanks guys good suggestions:)

although the rain one doesnt really do what I want which to give the typing angle on the keyboard resting with one side on the desk.

thanks though I am cheking both out!
