Simplicated

Hello, I own an early-2011 15-inch MacBook Pro. Three weeks ago I sent my MacBook Pro in for repair because the Tab key fell off.

When I got back my machine I noticed that they replaced the top case, as I was told, and surprisingly the logic board and the left speaker. Since the logic board was replaced, I had to reinstall MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.3, Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.0 and MacBook Pro SMC Firmware Update 1.5.

The machine has started to act weird since the installation of the above updates. If I leave the machine idle for a period of time, the screen backlight turns off as usual while the screen remains on, and therefore the screen remains barely visible. If I move my mouse (or move the cursor with the trackpad), the backlight won't turn back on until I keep adjusting the backlight brightness for about five seconds. However, this is sporadic.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
