Hi all,

I have a MBP running 10.7.3 hooked up to an external monitor via mini-display port. My question is, is there any way to disable the computer from going into closed lid mode when I close the lid? If the power is plugged in or I have another peripheral device plugged in (besides my Time Machine), my MBP will always enter closed lid mode when I prefer it to go to sleep.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

You could use SmartSleep or :apple: > Sleep and then close the lid.

It is strange though, as my Macs with peripherals connected to them (USB, Firewire, displays) go to sleep via closing the lid and stay that way.
Maybe it is just a bug of 10.7.3 Lista?

Have you tried an SMC reset yet?

If the first link does not work, as the Apple Support Pages are bit funky these last weeks:

I actually did a SMC reset today, coincidentally.

I'm not sure what it is. I will look into smartsleep. Thanks!

Lista lol. Haven't heard that one before. In some instances I agree, others I disagree.
