ios5 3gs bug in music player

recently my music player stopped automatically advancing to the next song in the play list. re synced with itunes did not help. there seems to be no option to re enable this. It continuously repeats what ever song is currently playing. all the songs in the play list will play, just not advance only repeat the same tune.
