In an aptly bonehead move I spilled tap on my MBP, which was on and plugged in. I removed the back, battery, hard drive and let it all sit for a week before touching it again.

After reassembly and testing, I realize my motherboard is likely fried from the tap content minerals. I again removed all elements as before and this time, hoped at least my hard drive could be salvaged.

Initially, my iMac saw and read my hard drive (docked) and I was able to retrieve some files when suddenly the hard drive ejected itself. Ever since, the hard drive does not boot. I can feel it start up but then turn itself off, never even registering on my iMac.

So... is my hard drive completely dead and situation hopeless? Have I lost all the content of my MBP hard drive? If I can do this on my own, I'd rather.

Any help is appreciated.

Finally, yes, I have learned that I should back up my drives as habit and not as a response to emergency.

Thanks guys!
