help (can't use the phone because i can't unlock)

hey guy ive got a problem ive jailbroken my iphone 3g(not 3gs) 16gb and ive done a recovery now when i got in to itunes and to unlocked it says sim not insted when i have one in and i can't use the phone because i can't unlock.

Help!!!

Provide info baseband version, iOS, anything that might be useful how you jailbroke and unlocked.
 
ios is 5.0.1(9a405) modem firmware is 06.15.00 and i used redsn0w_win_0.9.10b5c
