iPhone 4S FaceTime & iMessage "Waiting for activation..." it's been like this for a while, any tips?

A lot of. Go on 3G, turn of Wi-Fi, take out sim card, turn iPhone off, try to call with facetime, try to message someone who definitely has an iMessage.
Mine was waiting for activation, but it just activated itself at night when I was at sleep. I did nothing literally.

That's weird. It says waiting for activation but I can send iMessages
