Hey guys, I am looking to sell my iPad 2 64gb (3G) and was wondering if the
$400 GameStop is offering a good deal? Has anyone else used GameStop to trade in iPad's?

hell no

gmaestop sucks and they are g'ing you. I sold my wii for 100 on crglst and xbox f0r 120 and they were looking to give 80 for the 2. Hellllllllllllllllssssssss no! if youre worried about getting robbed, then just go to a public place like a coffee shop when you sell the thing. Dont be scared.

ANYTIME you sell to a wholesaler, you will get substantially less than selling to the end user.

As to "worth it", is an extra $200 or more in your pocket worth selling via Craigslist? If you're made of money, maybe not worth the hassle. I for one would rather have the extra cash and see the trade-in / Gazelle / Ebay Instant Sale for what they are.

Is that cash or store credit? If it's cash that sounds pretty good considering it is a trade-in. People need to distinguish trade-in vs selling. Yeah, you get less, but you also avoid a lot of hassle.

They have overhead that's why they low ball you. You should try craigslist and get cash.

Yes, there are better ways to sell.

But if the only option for THIS person is sitting in the closet, then it is a heck of a good deal.

I just sold my 32gb wifi only iPad 1 for 365 . . . You can do better.

GameStop trade-ins

If anyone has bought or sold iDevices at GameStop, I'd love to get your input. Please contact me directly at ocwriter at yahoo.com. Thanks!

I hear that they have a "cash same as credit" deal going on right now. I checked other prices online and GameStop actually pays more cash than anyone else.

Amazon will give you $500 credit for their trade-in. So unless you are hard up for cash, GameStop's offer is worse. And Amazon pays the cost of shipping.

$500?? Where does it say that? I did a quick search and the most I could find was on the iPad 2 64gb 3G - $475..... and it has to be in PERFECT condition. No thanks. I'd rather get cash from GameStop or take my chances with Craigslist lol.

Never trade in anything with GameStop. They always rip you off. Luckily, I learned that a long time ago.

You actually may able to get more from GS. Even though on the website it says up to $400, last week there was also a deal for an extra 30% if your powerup rewards card. That deal ended but right now they have an extra 20 % until 4/7. I called to check to make sure they extra 20% was on top of the $400 and they said it was. The other nice thing is it doesn't specifically mention what condition the iPad needs to be in and you do not have to include the charger. So $480 store credit isn't too bad but of course you can still do better selling direct.

I just sold my 64gb wifi only for $550, just saying......

When did you get this amount and what was your net in-pocket after any selling costs? Was this in the last couple days via Craigslist (no fees/costs) or a month ago via ebay?

Sold it on Monday to a friend, $550 upfront, no fees or extra cost. Not a bad deal.

Personally, if I would be weary of putting an ipad up on craigslist in my area just because I never know who might answer the ad. Of course Ive sold several things on craigslist and ive always met at wal-mart or something. That being said, GameStop is a safer alternative and you wouldnt have to wait a week or two for it to be shipped, checked, and such. plus, i'd use that money on a video game.

Just wanted to post that I can confirm GS is offering an additional 20 percent above the trade in prices listed on the website.

I sent my iPad 2 64gb AT&T into Amazon as they offered me $500 for one in like new condition. Much to my surprise they said it was only in acceptable condition and lowered the offer to less than $400. They clearly went over it with a fine tooth comb as they claimed a couple dead pixels and a barely noticeable scratch (only seen when screen is off.). I had them return it.

Brought it into GS just now and was given $480 in store credit. I didn't need to turn in the charger and box (which I did with Amazon).

Would rather of had Amazon funds but not at that low of an offer. Of course could possibly get more on EBay (but not too much more) and then would have to deal with it possibly returned or worse, buyer scams.

At least I have the XBOX 720 paid for - whenever that's being released.
