Cannot unlock iPhone 3GS. $10 to whoever figures this out!

I've been on my computer for 24 hours now. I am going nuts. I'll Paypal $10 to whoever helps me unlock my iPhone 3GS.

Here's where I'm at.

I have a 3GS 16gb.

I'm certain it's the oldbootrom the serial starts with 5K9400.....
The Modem is the dreaded 05.16.05
I want to be able to put in my Simple Mobile simcard but so far I cannot "unlock" the phone.

I've jailbroken it via RedSn0w and Cydia is installed on iOS 5.0.1
Once I've Jailbroken the phone I tried using Ultrasn0w to no avail then I read somewhere that I needed to change the baseband to the iPad baseband but unfortunately I get an error on the phone itself when using RedSn0w to independently change to the iPad baseband.

I am completely lost...I've downloaded Tinyumbrella but I'm not even sure I did that right...

Is this even possible to unlock at this point?
