Hello,

my original 1TB Western Digital Scorpio Blue internal crashed, so I replaced it with a new one.. BUT the new one doesn't have the 4 small mounting screws on the side that mount it to the plastic brackets of my 15'' Macbook Pro. (if you are not sure of which screws I'm talking about look at the "IMPORTANT" part of step 6 on these instructions:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3419 .)

Do you know a place online where I can buy these type of screws? Is it too dangerous to put the drive without the screws?

Thank you in advance!

What did you do with the old screws?

the screws are screwed into your crashed Scorpia BLue

The screws are on the old hard drive..which I sent it back to WD to get a replacement one. Taking them out might had void the warranty...

Thanks for the link Macman.. will check it out...

Taking the screws out would not have voided the warranty since they are mounting screws that Apple use, not ones that Western Digital use. You should find plenty of sites online that'll sell the same screws.

The reason the screws are there are to secure the drive in place, if you don't use them when putting the drive back in it will move quit a bit and will probably die eventually from hitting the case so often :).
