I am a recent first-time Mac purchaser, and I am finding some radio buttons and checkboxes on some websites are not working. For example - eddiebauer.com When I select an item that provides multiple views via radio buttons on the left side of the page, nothing happens when I click them. Also, the "add to shopping cart" button does not work either. The problem is isolated to my iMac - no issues when using my iPad or Dell laptop. I have also come across similar issues on two of my banking sites and other retail sites.

This happens when using both Safari and Chrome.

Is this an issue with the website programming or the iMac?

Thanks in advance for any replies/comments/suggestions.

I just tested it here and it works for me. Maybe provide specific links?

PS: Did you reset Safari yet or does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, user account?
You can reset Safari this way:

Thanks for the quick reply. I just tried viewing the same jacket in both Safari (after resetting) and Chrome - same results. Nothing happens when I try to add to the shopping cart and the more images buttons on the left do not work.

Pretty strange.

Mac OS X Version 10.7.3

I just tried it using my daughter's user account, and it works fine. So the issue seems to be isolated to my user account.

Remedies?

You could try deleting the com.apple.safari.plist file in Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Library / Preferences / and the same for the Chrome PLIST file (same folder, just with Google or Chrome in the name).

Thanks for your help - but I can't find either of those files in my library.

OK - I was able to find the files following your directions.

I have:

com.apple.safari.plist
com.apple.safari.plist.lockfile
com.apple.safari.rss.plist
com.apple.safari.rss.plist.lockfile

Which ones do you suggest deleting?

Delete all, they are just preferences and are recreated upon restart of Safari.

Removing those files did not work. But, I solved the problem. I had installed Ghostery on my account; this was the only difference between my account and my daughter's. Once I uninstalled it all websites/buttons/boxes starting working properly.

Thanks for the help.
