Just started using Aperture and coming from a a Windows machine it's weird to not have to deal with my folder hierarchy. I'm loving Aperture! I understand that it is a nondestructive editing program and that edits are saved to a version and the masters are not touched.

I would like to be able to use Aperture to manage and organize my library more than anything. What I would like to do is delete the pictures out of Aperture (so the Masters aren't touched) then export all of the pictures ~10,000 to my external hard drive so only those exports with the edits become the "new" versions. Is this possible only using the export function on here? I've done quite a bit of searching and haven't seen many people doing this.
