Anyone know if there will be one to coincide with the release of the next iPad? This week or shortly afterwards?

Nothing announced yet and other than maybe a minor update (5.1 maybe), I wouldn't expect anything significant. Based on the past two releases, we probably won't see iOS 6 until the next iPhone.

By all accounts iOS 5.1 has been waiting on the iPad release. I wouldn't expect any significant update until the next gen iPhone ships.

Are there any interesting features in 5.1?
It's been a really long time that we've been on 5.0.1.

Adding Japanese language support for Siri, a new unlock gesture that opens the Camera app, and bug fixes.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I fully expect 5.1 to be released the same day as the event.

Actually those are pretty good for me. I haven't enabled photo stream specifically for that reason and it's been a long freakin time since I plugged in my iPhone and imported photos to iPhoto. I'm also totally down with the camera gesture.
These are both features that I'll use on my iPhone though....at least the photo stream will show up on my iPad.

Gold master

I bet the 5.1 release candidate or gold master will be posted for the developers on Wednesday, after a few new exclusive apps/features will be revealed for the iPad 3.

The update for the iPad 2 will be posted whenever the iPad 3 is released (I think it will be on the 16th).

This makes the most sense. The GM will inevitably reveal iPad 3 features (notably the screen resolution).
