My keyboard backlight is fairly dim. You can definitely see a bit of light through the keys, so it's functional, but it's uniformly more dim than it was when I first bought it and definitely more dim than my 13" 2011 MBP keyboard backlight. Any ideas?

have you tried changing the brightness of the keyboard backlight?

F5-F6 on the top of the keyboard do this.

Are you talking about when the backlight is at full brightness? Did you check if the setting was low or high? There's also a setting in power conservation for this. The keyboard dimmer are the F5, F6 keys.

Yeah, I've got the keyboard backlight brightness maxxed out. The backlight is really dim.

If you haven't opened it to do some upgrade recently that may have caused you to mess up some connection, then I'd go to the Apple Store. If you did open it, take a good look inside. I don't really know what the keyboard light cable is. But going to the Apple Store is the best or at least calling AppleCare. Either the keys are messed up or the light.
