Has AT&T made a statement regarding the grandfathered unlimited plans and the Gen3 iPad?

Are the unlimited plans again grandfathered? If so, under LTE or 3G only?

Update to myself (and others that read this)

I called AT&T Premier and asked. I was told the following:

"We are being told if you currently have 3G unlimited on the iPad, you will be moved over to LTE unlimited."

Other questions I asked:

"Will the unlimited plans be restricted to 3G and not be able to utilize LTE?" - "No."

"Is there any data caps or throttling on the iPad unlimited as there are with the iPhone unlimited?" - "I have not seen any throttling or data caps on the iPad, only on the iPhone".

This was one person's answer. Mileage may vary.

This would be truly great news!

I'm hoping the hardware is the same so the ipad3 takes the same SIM card. Then we can just swap the card out and change the ID number on the account management web page, that's how I swapped my ipad1 unlimited to my ipad2.

Can you elaborate on the steps here you did with your ipad2 upgrade? I still have an iPad 1 with 3g unlimited.

Last week ATT said, regarding the unlimited plans, that they would be capped at 3GB for 3G and 5GB for LTE. There was never an "Unlimited LTE" plan so I have to assume ATT was referring to people that had a 3G unlimited plan and then bought an LTE device.

I did the same thing and asked the same exact questions with the same answers. BUT... people, we have all seen what happens if this is abused! Let's not screw this up!
I was advised not to power on my iPad until I have swapped sim cards

That was for iPhone subscription plans. I have read no statement from at&t regarding prepaid plans that are unique to the iPad.

I just went to my wireless data account here: https://dcp2.att.com/OEPNDClient/

Then after logging in under Edit User & Payment Information you can change the IMEI to that of the new ipad. Worked perfectly for me and I've never had an issue.

I just took the SIM out of iPad 1 and put it in iPad 2.

Well the unlimited plan is capped at 2GB anyway.

Not the unlimited ipad data plan.

Has anyone actually called AT&T to ask what their policy is for grandfathered unlimited iPad ($30 plan) users?

Hopefully it's a SIM swap, and unlimited 3G/4G data.

That's what happened when I went from 1 to 2. They simply transferred the unlimited plan to my new iPad
