Calling all white iPad 2 owners. Please give us your verdict on how the white iPad fares with age, dirt, etc? What's your review? I'd like to buy a white iPad and I need convincing of its durability etc..

Well iPad 2 owners, does the white iPad yellow with time?

dirt and debris can get stuck in the seam between the glass and plastic trim and of course around the home button which is expected considering black hides all that. Other than that there should be no problems.
In my experience I had a white iPad 2 and I did notice the home button kind of yellowed overtime. Nothing to panic about but if you looked closely, the home button did become yellowish unlike the bezel. The bezel was perfectly white. Of course the glass protects te bezel while the home button has no layer for protection.

Several of my friends who got white iPads or white iPhones wished they did not!
They do not yellow but take more effort to keep clean. It is not that the black model does not get dirty but the white one shows it more. I know I picked up a friends white iPad and it was gross.

You have to realize that the white part of the ipad is not exposed. It is all covered in glass. It's not like the old mac laptops that can get dirty. The glass totally protects it and if you don't abuse it, it will look as white as Day 1.
When I was looking at white iPads in the apple store, I swear the inside edge of the white border looked like it had a yellowish hue. Now, it could totally be an optical illusion, as you go from looking at white to a bit of black at the screen edge, to whatever is on the display. But, it looked a bit yellow to me, and kind of distracted me.
I've noticed that too, but perhaps it's just from the lighting at the Apple Stores and the light-colored wood most stores uses to display their products on. The home buttons on the white iPads definitely looked a little discolored to me. But, with all the traffic that comes through a given store- it's no surprise.
Another good reason for those that smoke to quit. Don't want to transfer all that nasty nicotine to your beautiful iPad.
Exactly. Mine is as white as the day I got it at launch last year. No dirt around the edges either.
How does everyone not realize this is totally incorrect? Black shows EVERYTHING while white does not. Think about it - black is the darkest color, so anything that gets on it is going to be lighter than it and therefore very noticeable. Go look at a black car and tell me it looks cleaner than almost any other color car around it. Unless it was JUST washed, it's probably dirty looking while other cars look passable for much longer - until they are filthy. Your friends' white iPads are "gross" because they don't look dirty for much longer, so they don't clean them off as obsessively as black iPad owners do. As an owner of a black iPhone 4 and previously a white iPhone 3G, I rarely thought about cleaning the back of the 3G, but I constantly clean the 4. I've had a white iPad 2 since launch last year. No color issues. The white looks much cleaner than the black.
