I'm trying to figure out what to do with my iPad. It's arriving this Friday and I have class until 2pm, earliest I'd get home is 2:30pm. I'm considering having Fedex hold it at a nearby location (see image).

Edit: sorry, I'm dumb, I reread it and it said it will be available next business day. Nevermind for this!

That is what shows up as an available option on my tracking page. Where I live is a bit far from Ontario, so I'd assume they are going to put it at some local Fedex.

If it does arrive before 3PM as the tracking page suggests, I have only 30 minutes where I will actually be home. So I'm considering doing this. But does anyone know if this means a delivery truck will have it on them, but skip my home, and I will be able to pick it up at the very end of the day when that truck goes back to the original Fedex?

My options are having it sent to work and have someone sign for it, let them leave a door tag, or do a pre-sign and have them place it somewhere. Anyone have any suggestions? Basically I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experience and can tell me what the quickest options is.

Cheers!

Just pre-sign and have it delivered to a neighbor ... easiest way really. in your situation.

You don;t have the option to ship it to your work if it's already been prepared for shipment or shipped ... that option has now passed for you.
