How to check simlock status without a simcard

Hi,

I'm trying to desimlock my phone. In France operators are required by law to do it after 3 months. I want to verify that it is unsimlocked and I don't have another sim card around. I'll repeat, I do not have another sim card on hand to test this. Is there any way to check the simlock status? Code to enter that brings up an information screen for example.

Call AppleCare. They can check what lock policy is on the phone for you.
