I upgraded from the iPad 1, so for me Facetime has been great! I only wish they offered it over LTE. It seems like the resolution is low enough that it wouldn't be a data hog, and I'm sure they apply some compression techniques to reduce the data size on top of the low resolution.

It seems like with my informal LTE testing, the upload speeds FAR exceed that of my home cable modem connection (at least double the upload capability, and 25% better download on LTE). To me it seems like LTE would be a better solution for Facetime than Wi-fi because of the increased speeds, especially upload. I wonder how much data it would use for a 5 minute call? I'm on unlimited, but I wonder if they restrict it because of the potential to go over one's data plan cap - OR - I wonder if they restrict it to not compete with carriers' cell phone business.
