So like many I upgraded my 3G iPad 1 to the new iPad. I thought it would be as simple as drop the old sim card in and away we go.

Although the device thinks I have 3G signal I am actually not receiving any data. Any ideas if this is a sim card issue so iPad related.

I tried my iPhone sim card and had same issue but they are both as old of each other?

Is this a visit to the Apple store or Vodafone. The sim card works fine in my old iPad.

Cheers

Try this procedure to reset the network settings:

  • Bring up the Settings app
  • Set "Airplane Mode" on for a short period, then turn it back off.
  • Under "General", choose "Reset" then select "Reset Network"
  • Confirm that you want to reset all network settings
  • Power the iPad completely off then turn it back on

Thanks. I did this originally and made a difference for a short period of time. Have reset again and seems more stable. Will see how it goes over the day.
