OK, here goes...

  • Its not called an iPad3, its just 'the new iPad'
  • The battery life is about the same as the iPad2
  • Its a teeny bit heavier than the iPad2 but you'll struggle to notice
  • The battery takes longer to charge, so plug it in for longer
  • It gets a bit warm sometimes, not much though
  • The higher resolution screen looks great, with high resolution content
  • The higher resolution screen shows up low resolution/poor quality content
  • It includes built in voice dictation in many apps
  • It can act as a wifi Personal Hotspot if your carrier allows
  • The camera takes better pictures than the iPad1/2
  • The camera takes beer video than the iPad1/2
  • It costs the same as the iPad2 did
  • It has the same storage options as the iPad2 did
  • Comes in black or white
  • The smart cover fits

All the rest of the guff you read about it - yellow screens, etc. is either subjective, or varies between iPads, or both.

If you want one, buy one.
If you ain't happy, change it.
If you still ain't happy, get a refund.

Lol this made me think of the quote 'they look better w your beer goggles on'

Then I envisions some1 trying to take video w iPad and on the screen is super model but in real life some average joe.

Hey that could be commercial! But then someone would sue apple. :(
 
There's more to the screen than just higher resolution. It also has more saturated and more accurate color, better contrast and a significantly wider viewing angle.
 
Not New iPad

You'll see it referred to as the iPad (3rd Generation) When you add it to the cart, you get "iPad with Wi-Fi 64GB - White (3rd generation)"

Oh boy...Here we go again!

YESSSS...It is the new iPad. But next years model will be called the new iPad as well. And this years model will be considered the old iPad. Don't you get it? What is the fascination with "the new iPad" name? Why doesn't anyone call it "the new macbook air"? Or "the new macbook pro"?
