So hypothetically, because no one here knows, if the 2012 macbook pro does have an improved battery... provided the connections are the same and it fits could you use it in the 2011's? Boost the battery life in them?

Your question in itself is a bit circular: basically "if the battery works with the old MacBooks would it work?" Currently, all the speculation about the 2012 MBPs is that there will be a physical redesign of the case. If that's the situation, there's almost zero chance the battery will be the same shape, size or have the same connector.

Not to mention the fact that it would void the warranty to remove or replace the battery.
