16GB DDR3 RAM, 99 dollars on Amazon

So I've done some researching and found this Komputerbay 16GB DDR3 RAM (2x8GB) kit for only 100 dollars. I think that this may be a price low for a 2 x 8GB kit. The reviews are stellar, and I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase it. Here's the link (shortened)

Just recently bought this ram when they were $109 and received them on Thursday. Put it on my new MBP, ran memtest, and one of the modules was consistently giving errors. Shipped them back on Friday for a refund.

Unfortunately, I did see this $99 deal while browsing and bought another set to try again. =/. I guess it doesn't hurt to try my luck one more time given the price for these. I ordered with 1-day shipping so should get them on Saturday. Will let you guys know how this 2nd set turns out.

Because it costs less?

Besides... all RAM generally comes from the same chinese suppliers. It's simply branded differently. So yes... always buy the cheapest freaking RAM you can find from the most reputable seller.

To anyone that disagrees I say... "duh".
 
I am sure the RAM is a fine brand though I prefer my Samsung personally. Crucial is also a good brand people give props to.
 
Yes, I've been using the 16GB 1333MHz Corsair Value Brand in all my Macs since it was $449 in Fall 2011. Unfortunately, more reports trickle in about bad SODIMMs. I've purchased 64GB worth from Newegg and did not have a problem. I'm slowly switching over to 16GB 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance, but waiting out for 1866Mhz because Handbrake gets a performance boost which helps with 1080p encodes. I'm taking a big hit on resell because of Amazon and Fry's specials (http://www.ebay.com/itm/32087379687...LX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_632wt_1156).
 
Whats the best ram module for the MBP 17" MD311LL/A?

Hi all. Now im a little confused about the best RAM module for my MD311LL/A.
2 units of Corsair 8 GB Module (1x8GB) DDR3 1333MHz PC3 10666 204-Pin or Corsair Memory Vengeance 16 Dual Channel Kit DDR3 1600 MHz 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ?

I realized the Vengeance is 240 - Pin. Does it work for MBP or only Desktop?

The first link looks good, but the second link looks like it is desktop ram.

Edit: I would go for this kit instead of the individual sticks on amazon in the first link. Saves you a bunch of money.

Thank you! I was buying this one you recommended me. However, if you look at the technical description , its a RAM module for desktop ( 240 pin and not 204 pin).

On these computers, cheaper usually doesn't matter, you're right.

As long as overclocking is out of the question (and it almost always is on Macs), there is no reason to get one brand over the other unless that brand has a reputation for being so cheap that it doesn't work!

Correct. You need 204-pin, 1.35v - 1.5v, 1333MHz SODIMM.

It looks to be an error on amazons site. The newegg link is the exact same product, look at the product id "CMSO16GX3M2A1333C9", newegg says it is 204 pin. I trust newegg for their technical descriptions well above amazon's descriptions.

I don't need 16gb so I think 8gb will be a good upgrade.

Just talked to a buddy of mine who had already bought the aforementioned RAM, says it's been terrific in his 13" MBP for the last 3 weeks, not sure why he needs it all though being as he doesn't do anything too intensive.
 
I recently bought 16GB for my macbook pro late 2011, can't seem to find search results on the corsair website but: CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 1600 mhz 2x 8gb modules, the run perfectly but they are a tad more bulky as my previous modules were. I payed 124 euro's($150) for them.
 
just got my 16 gigs tonight in nyc-nj area

got my 16 tonight works good from ups 1 day shippin $117
