I switched from a bb9930to an ip4s. I am on an exchange server and the 4s syncs with my outlook contacts and calendar. All good so far. When a phone number has and extension the iPhone cannot dial it.

A number in outlook. 123-345-7890 x123

Displays like 123456789X123 on the Iphone and won't dial.

How do I solve or work around this. I have a lot of contacts with extensions.

Thanks

I don't know if there is a better way but extension #s go in the notes section on my phone.

I will have to try this. Thanks for the info. Good question OP. I like you use exchange and a lot of extensions

This is a lot of work for a person with over 1,000 business contacts. Where do you submitt ideas to apple. The blackberry handled this seamlessly. Come one apple don't forget some of us are apple fans and also business people lol

Thanks

So, how did you get all those contacts in there - and how did you expect to add extensions?

They sync-ed from the outlook through the exchange server and look like this on the iphone

123-345-7891x123

and the baclberry understood the X was ans extension, dialed the number and asked if it should dial the extension or skip that step. The iphone sadly does not even complete the call at all.

Mine dials but just ignores the extension.
