I have been tirelessly lurking these forums and reading reviews online for the perfect iPad case. I finally took the time to register and make a post on what I've found. So far I have ordered 3 cases, two from poetic and one from Maroo. When I went in to searching for a case I knew i wanted something that looked nice, had a smart magnet, and was light. Protection is a distant 4th as long as my screen's not getting scratched. I had the otter box on my last iPad and never even dropped the damn thing. Anyways, I started with the Maroo Moko, while nice looking, the smart magnets didn't work and I feel it's a little too thick. Next I went with the Poetic Hardback (http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-HardBack-Protective-Built--Folding/dp/B007HBLX5G). This case features something like a smart cover on the front with hard shell protection on the back. It is very light and I love almost everything about it. I like how it functions both as a stand and a smart cover. I also love the fact that its held in by magnets that easily come apart for stand use. The two things that irk me about this case are the cheapy feeling material and the fact that when in vertical mode the cover doesn't fold all the way back. The third case was the poetic Rigid leather back. This case is nice looking but I don't like how hard it is to remove the flap on the side for use. And I don't like how hard it is to unclasp it to use as a stand. (http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-StrapBack-Leather-Multi-Stand-generation/dp/B007HBLXI8). I believe the best case of the bunch (and most functional ipad case I've ever used) is the poetic hard back, which is super cheap to boot. Just leaving my two cents here. The last thing I would like to know is if anyone else knows of any cases like the poetic hard back? (smart cover but also a detachable stand held magnetically) It's a really slick case and I'd love to get one made out of decent leather.

Thank you for the thorough review - the Poetic Hardback looks and sounds really nice, and what a great price!

I doubt there is one best case. There are a great many good ones, and it is only a question of finding the case that best suits your needs and style.

The great state of Texas
I think you grow into a case Get something that has the features you want and if the quality is normal you will learn to love it. I got the marware c.e.o. A year ago
About two months ago I wanted small and simple so I did the inception and a smart cover. It just didn't fell good so I tried the switch easy and it never felt right. So now I'm back on the marware which I have grown to love.

This is basically a cheap Switcheasy Canvas.

Switch easy uses Velcro for the stand. Magnets are a much better solution. Furthermore, it doesn't have the smart cover typing position. I'm not sure about the weight difference but this thing is light.
