So i got a brand new iPad, the new one. I was happy with it and took sure good care of it. Today i took it to radioshack and got a screen protector. The employee put one one. I looked at the back after she gave it to me. IT WAS COVERED IN DEEP SCRATCHES. I was PISSED. I told her and her responce: "I'm sorry." I returned it to apple because i only had it for 7 out of the 14 day return policy. I was about to get a new one but they were out of stock. Ill get one tomarrow. But seriously... ******* you radioshack!!!!!!!

Cool story bro...point of the thread??

releasing tension, understandable.

Sucks that happened :-\ Hope they get stock again so you can get it replaced asap.

Did they at least give you a free screen protector for the next one?

Agreed. You should go and talk to that stores manager and ask for a few free screen protectors or at least your money back and a free screen protector for all the trouble at a minimum.

Sorry to hear that. I would have been majorly pissed as well. Glad to hear you are getting a replacement soon. I would never go back to Radio Shack again, especially if they acted like it was no big deal/not their problem.

Warning other people of the possibility of getting their valuable iDevice scratched by a careless employee of Radio Shack. Unfortunately something like this can happen at any retailer that install screen protectors.

@OP: Did you bother to raise the issue with management or did you just accept it?

I hope they gave you a replacement screen protector for your new iPad.

How do they cause deep scratches when applying a screen protector?

They probably laid the back of the iPad down on their counter while squeegeeing (sp?) or placing the screen protector on.

All the movement while laying the protector on scratched up the back of the iPad.

Lol and that's why I never attempt to put screen protectors on customers devices. Actually, I make sure not to modify their device in any way so that I won't screw anything up. Also if Apple asks you why you're returning, make sure to leave this story out because sometimes they check for damage when people return items. Good luck!

I think the fact that Apple accepted the return proves it wasn't "COVERED IN DEEP SCRATCHES", never mind the fact that the RadioShack worker would had to have seriously maliciously attacked the iPad to even cause that sort of damage.

Bit ironic that you ended up with a sratched up iPad when you took it in for a screen protector.
My advice, do your own screen protectors.

Wait - you returned an iPad because Radio Shack put a bunch of deep scratches on the back case, and Apple actually replaced it for you?

This seems sorta shady to me, but hats off to Apple.

Not really. It all goes back to apple anyway.

I would not even go into a Radio Shack, much less let them touch my iPad!

This problem is kinda self inflicted. RS employees installing screen protectors, LOL!

Sell Ipod

Thus it becomes really important that if sell your iPhone is the idea that is raging in your mind then the most important thing that you should do is to select the company that would help you in arranging for the shipping that is insured and well tracked so that you can know where exactly your phone is at a particular instant of time.
