Hello guys. I'm helping a friend to jb his iphone 3GS. My question is this device is newer (fixed) model or old model? The SN beginning with 87202, is this newer fixed model or the older one?

I don't know if the week (02) has something to do with the year 2. The example the redsn0w gives you its from year 2009. So is this newer fixed model or the older one?

Thank you..

The only way to know for sure is to go to ih8sn0w.com and download idetector and let it check the BootROM version. Hopefully it's an old BootROM! I have one that I still use just because it's handy to always be able to update to the newest firmware and be untethered.

With that serial number, it is a new phone
It could not possibly be an old bootrom
