I just moved to a new apartment and my MacBook Pro picks up an open wifi signal with full strength plus like 10 others. My wifi iPad doesn't even show this network when I'm in the exact same spot and only lists like 2. Is this normal?

RF propagation is quite strange sometimes.
Note that the two will no receive the same as they have two different antennas in size and location. The slightest thing can change reception.
