Abort Copy process, where are files ?

Hi !

I was copying a bunch of pictures to my desktop (50 gb) but when it was 70%
a friend pulled out the usb cable from the external usb drive. How unlucky can we be.. he dropped the hd by accident. Can we recover the 70% that was copied ? they are not on the desktop and can't find them..

Launch the Terminal, locate the temporary folders and do ls .*
Sorry I don't know where are the temporary folders on OSX. On Linux it's /tmp or /usr/tmp...
