Thinking of buying an iPhone 4S. But i'm still worried about the wide spread battery issue that still isn't fixed. Is it really that horrible still with iOS 5.1?

Battery life is dependent on several variables, therefore the different run times, that different people experience is nearly impossible to fairly compare.

If you don't use the phone a lot, and you are used to the awesome standby battery of the iPhone 4, it'll be noticeable.

If you game on your phone a lot, neither the 4 or the 4S would last through half a day.

So I think it depends heavily on your usage. But in my opinions, the 4S is worth it because it's a lot faster and more responsive than the 4... in general. Plus I get a feeling the 4S lasts just about the same as the 3GS anyway. The iPhone 4 might be a special case when it comes to battery life.

It's mainly for social media and apps like "whatsapp".

Listen to this good sound advice.

If you don't want to wait for the next iPhone, go ahead and enjoy.

I've noticed no problems with the battery. Yes it is slightly less battery life then the 4 but not bad enough and the phone lasts me all day from 7:30am-midnight. And I am a heavy user of facebook/email/internet/iPod/whatsapp.

The key to saving some battery is not having brightness up all the way (full brightness is probably to bright for your eyes anyway) and turning of bluetooth if you don't use it.

Also I don't see battery life improving with the next iPhone Apple wouldn't want to make the device much bigger and the increase in specs would probably need more battery power.

With rumors of a June release of the next iPhone why would you not just wait another 50 days or so.?

The next iPhone will not be released in June. It will be released in the fall just like the last one.
