This is what a 4 inch unibody iPhone would look like. I think its pretty sweet.

Using aluminium after using glass seems like a huge step backwards. Aluminium looks bad on a phone. I hope these claims are complete garbage! Same form factor but thinner (maybe larger for a bigger screen) would be great!

At least it wouldn't shatter when dropped. It would also be lighter which would be nice. If they could make it near the thinness of the Touch but with a 4 inch screen, would be awesome.

Thankfully I've never dropped any iPhone yet! lol. I would not like it to be the thickness of an iPod Touch though, too thin. If the whole device was the thickness of the metal band on the current models, I would be happy! (Even though I really like the weight and size of the current iPhone 4S already) I would also love to see an iPad that has the same design as the current iPhone too, larger and a tad thinner... i just prefer the glass design over aluminium.

I think you'll end up warming to a unibody iPhone. That is, if you liked the looks of the first generation iPhone/iPhone 2g.

Unibody would also finally make the iPhone look more apart of Apple's product line a they're all unibody and look great.

I think the form factor currently is spot on, a larger screen within that would be great.

As long as it's not a chrome backed iPod touch that gets covered in scratches I'll be happy.

Either way I hope the redesign will be more ergonomic. The current form factor is far from ideal in the hand. It's straight up uncomfortable to hold. Looks gorgeous though.

Everyone is entitled to there opinions , even if there ridiculous. :D

The ergonomics of the 4th gen iPod Touch leave much to be desired. The curve of the edges is so dramatic that the volume and power buttons are at an awkward angle. Thankfully, the CookieCase corrects that and gives it an iPhone-like look and feel.

Interest article from the Verge showing how a 4" iPhone screen could look:

It is interesting, and changing the aspect ratio to keep within the current device size is a possibility. However, their 9:5 ratio that leaves 7 pixel borders at the end of 16:9 video seems unlikely. Why not go for 16:9? Take 14 pixels off their size and you get 1138x640 (matches up to George Lucas's first film THX 1138 - good or bad for marketing?). A minute increase in pixel size and you get a 4" screen while staying above Retina resolution.
