Heres my story:
I go to boarding school (not fun). A kid in October carelessly spilled Coca Cola on my Early 2011 Macbook Pro (2.3Ghz, High-res anti-glare, 8gigs of ram @ 1600, etc...). I thought my luck was great, I had waited 2 days and cleaned the inside of it, and it seemed to work. About 2 weeks ago my Wireless just went, gone... Unfortunately when I took it to Tekserve in NYC the liquid damage had voided my 300 dollar Apple Care warranty that was already on top of the 2300 dollar MBP... The point was either my airport card had gone, or my whole motherboard. The airport card cost: ~$350. The motherboard cost: ~$1350
After some deciding, I thought the best option would be just to buy another Macbook Pro that would have costed to get the old one fixed. The Macbook Pro that I would buy would be a refurbished Late 2011 15-inch Macbook Pro. The detailed specs giving were: 2.2Ghz Core i7, 6750m 512, and the worst part...
A 1440 x 900 Resolution Screen.
The Main Part:
You see my Early 2011 MBP pro still works except the Wireless card, and I love the high-res screen (Note: I'm writing this on the Early 2011 model). I remember seeing a video awhile back (Around the original Macbook Pros) about how this guy found a screen online and replaced his 17-inch screen with a 1080/1200 (can't remember) one.
I was wondering is there a place where I could buy a 1680 x 1050 glossy screen kit for my Late 2011 MBP? I could install it myself, but would prefer to have a dealer do it.
Any ideas on places to buy such a screen, and maybe even a dealer that could install it?
