Best iphone app to video chat for free internationally?

I have family and friends abroad that I want to keep in touch with. Can you call any Skype computer from you Skype iPhone app? Can you call another iPhone in a different country that has the Skpye app installed for free?

Are there any other apps that can do this? Free ones are preferred. Can you use Google chat or Tango (heard about this today)?

Yes you can call skype computer from iPhone app. Also why not just Facetime them on their phone instead of using skype?
