How do I turn off automatic launching of iPhoto when I plug in my iPhone?? It's incredibly annoying. Photo syncing is even turned off in iTunes. Plus when iPhoto opens it takes forever to load and I'm on a 2011 MBP 15".

iPhoto (top menu)> Preferences>General>Connecting Camera opens>NO Applications.

iphoto 8

If you're using iphoto 8 or earlier, this setting is found elsewhere.

It's in the main window of the Image Capture app.

I have made Image Capture my default app when I connect an iphone or camera. It is quick to load and more versatile than iphoto. You can elect to send photos to iphoto or save them elsewhere. It comes with OSX. It has some very useful scanning functions as well.

This does work but what if I want iPhoto to automatically recognize a camera and open but not an iPhone or iPad? Is there another option for turning this off on the iPhone or iPad? :)
