Change reserve battery power message (including Terminal if necessary)

Hi all,

Essentially, what I'm trying to do is change the text in that popup that says something akin to 'Computer now on reserve battery power'. How is this possible? I don't mind if I have to use Terminal.

Why would you want to change the text of a warning message?
 
A friend of mine wants me to change it for them to something different for the fun of it. I don't really know why either, but if it floats their boat...

Any ideas of how to?
 
The file you want to modify is /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/Battery.menu/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Warning.nib, but it's a compiled nib on Snow Leopard and newer. So you'll have to devise a way to edit it. Just make sure you keep backups of the original.

What kind of application would be able to open and edit .nib files?
 
Xcode can, but that nib is a compiled one that cannot be edited. There is a way to edit it, even though it's compiled. However, I forget how at this time.
 
I see. Anyway, I've opened Warning.nib in Xcode but cannot find the location of the text which I have to change.
