Apple today officially announced two more rounds of launches for the new iPad, with the first round coming on Friday, April 20 and including twelve markets led by South Korea. The second round comes on Friday, April 27 and includes nine more countries.
Apple today announced the new iPad, the third generation of its category defining mobile device, will arrive in South Korea and 11 additional countries on Friday, April 20. [...]

In addition to South Korea, the new iPad also will be available beginning on Friday, April 20 in Brunei, Croatia, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Malaysia, Panama, St Maarten, Uruguay and Venezuela. Beginning on Friday, April 27, the new iPad will be available in Colombia, Estonia, India, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, South Africa and Thailand.
Apple has moved quickly to launch the iPad in markets around the world, beginning with a 10-country launch on March 16 and following that with debuts in 25 more countries just a week later.

One key market that has yet to see an announcement regarding availability of the new iPad is China. Regulatory authorities have approved at least the Wi-Fi version of the device, but Apple is apparently not yet ready to launch the device in the country.

Come on China launch, I don't want to resort to getting one from HK!

The iPad mini is defenetly coming, because it is ideal for the school/children's/education market:

- children fingers are smaller, in relation to child size iPad is 'large'
- schools are poor = smaller price makes it more likely that schools use apple iPad

I hope this iPad mini will come in more than two colors.

This thread is about the news article, its not general iPad speculation, there is plenty of that in the iPad forums.

The new iPad launched in more countries on day 1 than previously, yet it is still being rolled out around the world. I wonder if we will ever see a global day 1 launch?

Finally! Time to get rid of my yellow tinted iPad I got from HK. Thought itd be a bit awkward to ask for a replacement before the new iPad is even launched here

I am wandering when it will be launced in my country.. But however i will get it.

iPad 3 availability is surprisingly pretty good in stores - both Apple's and other retailers in the US.

Consumers don't want iPad mini. They want iPad 3 with the resolutionary 9.7" display that brings their contents to life.

no, wrong. There are lots of "speculation" articles on this site, however this one is fact, this is a real thing, real iPads are going on sale today. you think.

Please, do not be foolish. This article speaks of things yet to come, things which may never come.

EDIT: Wait a minute. This isn't the iPad Mini thread? My mistake.

1. You've posted in the wrong thread.
2. Both of you arguments are wrong. Children use the larger iPad fine and would probably prefer it. A four year old relative of mine has their own iPad and they are fine to use it and probably prefer the bigger size.
3. Also you shouldn't call schools "poor" doing so is offensive to people that are actually poor. Almost every school I've heard of has iPads regularly used in classrooms (even government public schools).
