Editing apn settings on iPhone unlocked by AT&T

I am getting my iPhone 4s unlocked by AT&T and I was wondering if this would enable me to edit the apn settings so I can have mms again? Thanks so much.
 
If your phone is factory unlocked, you can take a t mobile sim and insert it into the phone and you will be able to edit the apn settings.
