Sort of desperate in trying to fix this issue.

Every single time I close and reopen the application, this is what happens WITH the beach ball of death. The screenshot doesn't show that.

I've tried reinstalling many times and even restarted my whole computer. It can never get passed that point in the application.

RAM Issue

Try turning every other program off and then opening it again to see if it's a RAM issue.

Apart from that I can't think of anything, apart from restoring your mac completely or from a previous backup

Are your mac and final cut updated to the latest version?

Maybe you could even try temporarily closing your antivirus software and then trying to open find cut, or try closing some of those programs that run in the background.
