Hey guys, I've got a box running windows server 2008R2 in my basement that I use for various things. (I run a "mixed-mode" household with mac's and PC's - crazy I know) One of my goals is to get the windows server setup with VPN so that I can connect to it while away from home and get easy access to my machines inside the home, either from a mac or a pc and in a secure fashion.

So in my brief research of the different types of VPN protocols, I chose PPTP because it's the easiest and is supported by almost everything - including mac's. I've got it up and running, and I'm able to connect to the VPN from both my macbook pro as well as my wife's windows laptop. But here's the rub:

From a windows laptop, after connecting I have full access to everything in my internal network: I can ping all my machines as well as RDP to them.

But from my MBP, I cannot ping nor RDP to anything inside my network - even though I'm successfully connected to the VPN. My hunch is that this must be a DNS problem, but I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting. Since everything is working fine from the windows PC, I imagine it's probably something wrong with my VPN setup on the MBP - but who knows.

I'd be grateful for any help anyone could provide. Please let me know what kind of additional information I can provide. thnx!
