Hey guys, I have a quick question regarding the jb for the iPhone 3gs on iOS 5.1. I understand that it's tethered. But, If the only app I install in cydia is MyWii or PDANet, will I be able to turn the phone off and on without having to use redsnow. Meaning will the phone still work if those are the only two things installed. I don't think either of them require mobilesubtrate, so it should be fine, right?
Reason I ask, is because I want to use that line and that phone to tether to my iPad. My iPhone 4s and 3Gs both have 200 mb plans from AT&T, but the 3Gs is used by my dad who uses barely any data. Maybe 10mb, and since we are going on a road trip next month, I figured I would set up tethering for him to use while in the car.
