Will AirPort Express Base Station work with linksys?

I have linksys e2000. Can the AP be an wireless extender even though its using linksys? Will I be able to use the wireless N from the AP? Also will airplay work without the airport extreme?

Since both devices (Linksys e2000 and AEBS) are dual-band wireless routers, why do you need two of them? And you can only use the AEBS to extend a wireless network of another AEBS, as far as I know.

AirPlay is only supported by the AirPort Express, not by the AEBS.

The linksys i can't use A/B/G/N at the same time. Either N or A/B/G. So I was thinking of using the AEBS as an extender for wireless N only and to stream music to my stereo in my living room.

AirPlay is only supported by the AirPort Express, not by the AEBS.

I am confused... aren't they the same name?

Sorry, I was confused, as it seems. I never heard the "term" AirPort Express Base Station used for the device you linked to, thus I assumed you meant the AirPort Extreme Base Station.
If in fact you want to use the device you linked to, AirPlay will work.
But you can't extend the wireless network from the Linksys with it.

So the only way to use it as an extender if its used with the EXTREME? So what can it do with the linksys? beside the airplay (It doesn't need to the linksys or anything else for airplay correct?)

The Express can be used with speakers to provide audio in other parts of the house. You can also connect a USB printer and share it over the network. The Express can also be setup to allow a system without a wireless adapter onto the network.
