I know long title...

I can't beleive nobody ever mentions the use of USB 3.0, it would be nice to have faster charging and super fast transferring...

USB 3???

Steve Jobs just rolled over in his grave.

It's Thunderbolt or nothing, my good man.

It'll also charge faster?

i'm not sure, I just kinda through that out there...not sure if the power output is the same as 2.0 or not, i'm assuming it is more? Can someone confirm this?

no thunderbolt on Windows (and no 3.0 on Mac)

guess this may answer my question in the topic

Aside from the huge installed base of Macs and PCs without TB, it costs way too much and is complete overkill for a device that holds at most 64 GB and most transfers are a few megabytes.

Don't be too sure about USB3.0 not being introduced on Apple products. USB3.0 might be introduced on the next iMac and MBP thanks to IvyBridge CPUs. And if there, why not on the next iPhone?!

"Smartphones and tablets will also recharge faster through USB 3.0, as the power will flow faster than in USB 2.0, Ismail said."

At least you still need a cable for charging the battery and then why not have an interface to the computer. TB overkill though, I would say.

think how expensive that cable would be too, lol iPhone prices might very well go up if they use a TB cable, and think about a replacement, I'm definitely not going to pay over 40 dollars for a replacement charging cable.

Not happening until USB 3.0 comes to mac. Their not gonna advertise a feature such as USB 3.0 for faster transfer and charging speed... when there macs do not have this ability... rendering it useless to apple users using macs

So the millions and millions of people with a Mac pre-thunderbolt are out of luck?

I don't think so.

haha, "as the power will flow faster". What BS. It ain't the cable that slows down charging.

You didn't know that electricity is slower in USB 2.0?!? Geez!! Hahaha

Yeah I think either he doesn't understand electricity to well in that article or was just trying to really dumb it down. I read elsewhere it's capable of higher amps via the cable, connectors, and on board.

They'd brag about the freakin light blue markers on the USBs lol I wish they did that would be kinda cool

Thunderbolt would be awesome, however unlikely. Truth be told, I don't think the device needs much of an update in terms of sync speeds.
