Recomend me a HD for an early 2011 13" macbook pro

I have an early 2011, 13" Macbook Pro. This came with a 350 GB Hard Disk. I'm interesting to replace this with a 1TB Hard Disk. I hear from a Best Buy Technician that this HD must be one from Apple. Is this correct?

No, any 1 TB 2.5" drive will fit. It doesn't have to be from Apple.

Some 1TB drives are 15mm. Too big for a MBP. You'll need 12.5mm.

That is what I thought, the only problem is that this have to be 12.5mm or 9.5mm.

Which models support 12.5mm? (I have a late 08/early 09)

My mistake, you need the 9.5 for all MBP's. Not sure what the OptiBay SATA chassis will hold you'll have to contact OWC.

I'd recommend the Seagate XT 750 Hybrid as a nice drive that'll fit your MBP.

Instead of 1tb drive, I prefer to get 750GB 7200rpm WD Scorpio black.

It's 7200rpm vs 5400rpm. It should be a little bit faster.
