im using my ipad to take notes and edit during lectures @ my univ.

i also use a desktop home and sync everything with dropbox.
on my desktop i write in open office (.odt)

can't seem to either view or open/edit theese docs on my ipad. im using quickoffice pro. and it works great with .doc and .docx files.

any tips?

I use FileApp to read (but not edit!) .odt and .ods files.

Warning: it takes FileApp quite a while to open large ODS files. For example, the pretty large (it will contain ALL the info iOS users wanting to choose a video player will ever need) chart of my forthcoming iOS Multimedia bible at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13100693/html/042012RetinaHDVideoPlayers/201204-mm-chart.ods took some 2 minutes on my iPad 3 to open.
