I own a MacBook Pro which i bought in April 2010. With 8GB RAM. So I decided to upgrade my WD Scorpio blue 500GB to a WD Scorpio blue 1TB drive. The problem is the 1TB drive is not detected when installed as an internal drive, but was able to detect it when placed in an external enclosure and the same MBP was able to detect it! When I go to disk utility, all I saw was the install DVD. So I used Superduper to clone my old drive to the 1TB drive and put back in the computer. Still it's not booting up.
I took it to Apple and was told my 2010 MBP did not support 1TB drives.
Anyone else experienced this? I have seen older MBPs handle this drive on numerous posts.
PS: I also formatted the 1TB drive to mac extended journal before cloning it.
