The casting of Ashton Kutcher in the role of Steve Jobs in an upcoming independent film focusing on the Apple co-founder's life has certainly generated a significant amount of attention for the project, despite the fact that the film is a completely separate effort from the high-profile planned Sony Pictures film to be based on Walter Isaacson's authorized biography of Jobs.

With filming on the indie film starring Kutcher having already begun with the star on break from his work on the TV show Two and a Half Men, TMZ shares a few photos of Kutcher seen wearing Jobs' trademark outfit of a black turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers. The photos were reportedly taken on Friday while Kutcher was walking to the set of the film.

Kutcher has been said by some to bear an uncanny resemblance to a young Steve Jobs, particularly with having adopted a close copy of Jobs' hairstyle and facial hair from those days. Jobs did not adopt his trademark wardrobe until a number of years later, but Kutcher is clearly taking on that aspect of Jobs' identity for the role as well.

Wow. So, he's managed to "get into character" enough to....wear jeans? That's gonna improve the world's view of his acting ability.

A chill ran down my spine. Marlon Brando/The Godfather. Robert De Niro/Raging Bull. Heath Ledger/The Dark Knight.

Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs.

The question is, why is he wearing the turtleneck and jeans as "Young Steve". I thought Steve only got those as he was beginning to turn older and grey. Back when he had a full head of brown hair and a beard he wore different "normal" clothes.

Cool

Pretty cool. Resembles Steve a bit, even though the jeans/turtle neck were not part of the early years. Either way, so now he has visual similarities, too bad putting on clothes can't make him an actual actor. Meh. I can't stand the douche bag, but something tells me he's going to pull it off.

Someone should help him get the little things right, like the shoes New Balance 991, the jeans, and that watch. To play this role, Kutcher should be meticulous. That is who he became. Though in the beginning, Steve was quite scruffy looking. He was a hippy (and pirate) after all.

Ahh, I am mistaken then.

And let's not forget the outfit in the famous picture when he did the Macintosh.

You have to be an amazing writer to pull off a screenplay about Steve. You cannot fake Steve. At least, not the one that he presented to the outside world. That part should be really true, because we all saw the interviews through various stages in his life.
